today, i'm into public speaking...

Today, we were tasked to deliver a speech in our subject “public speaking”, prior to this we were given two days to prepare our speech that is, over the weekend. Languidly, I didn’t make my assignment and instead I enjoyed sync-ing my ipod, coffee and music trip, reveried and rolled over to bed. Truly, it’s a luscious way to spend the weekened in our barracks enjoying my solitude less stress and worry-free.

However, reality draws near me this gloomy Monday morning when the panicking of my classmates doing drafts of their so-called speech is contagious, so in hesitation, i lazily turned on my laptop, connected the broadband and starts searching an interesting theme.

Eventually, I have chosen my topic and delivered the speech genially, my viewers may not notice am a bit uptight standing in front of them talking and thanks to my previous employment in Radio Broadcasting my confidence to speak publicly or stage a face to face interview with people from all walks of life was honed to beat the coyness in public speaking.

Nonetheless, I ended up with the scrutiny that I need to add more vigor in my conveyance and improve the tone of my voice, nonetheless, our professor told me that i delivered the speech satisfactorily.

SHE IS A GEMINI WOMAN

Marrying one Gemini woman is like living with two different wives. Confused? Don't be, we are just talking about her dual personality. She has a dual nature and is capable of displaying different personality traits at different points of time. However, your major task will be to get her to commit. She finds something good in all the men she meets and then, wants a man who has all of those qualities. However, this can't be and then, she keeps longing for that perfect man! this was inspiredly written a day after the release of Nursing Board Exam result last February 3, 2010 by a working girl who struggled to achieve her goal of becoming a Nurse
--a thank you note for those who affect her struggles in one way or another.

TO DR KELLY –sir, you made my 2 years school-working days too taxing with the demands, pressures and responsibilities you rest upon my shoulders, no, I’m not complaining because I figured that this is your way of molding a person to become nimble and adept. You favored me so much, that the trust and confidence is too overwhelming, I’m afraid I won’t get your expectation, but then I’m thankful for if you’re not my chief I’m sure my nursing struggles would be much much much harder than what I’ve been through…
..you did not only taught me to do two but five and ten things at the same time, you challenged me severely and indifferently when I wanted to give up one of the two, and also when I said I might not be able to make the board exam, wheeeew!!!! I’m sooo glad you did…, because I have it both…
..you looked so much to the welfare of your personnel but sometimes they mistook you because of your masking unconcerned, however, I have seen that you want the best for us and that you’ll be proud for whatever achievement, we'll have … that’s why every time I have one, I always wanted to be the first person to inform you that I made it… our success is yours too as you keep on saying that you wanted to leave a legacy worth remembering…sir, you made a history.

To MAM CEL, MAM MENY – for just letting me be… for the patience and for the understanding.., you’ve taught me tons of things that I needed to learn on how to become a good nurse equipped with right Knowledge, Skills and Attitude.,
..thank you too for welcoming me into your world.

TO SIR JONARD, DR. JONAS AND DRA. BENG, MAM CEL, MAM MENY and DR KELLY – my tutors with the nursing concepts that i haven't understood at school, my clinical instructors with the skills i haven't learned in my hospital duties..—why, I am so blessed to be surrounded by excellent medical professionals who were unselfishly and patiently nurturing Florence the novice
..- you were my lucky charm why i am always at edge with my classmates when they have all the time to attend the class, review their notes and worry less while I am struggling to hold mine… what if, there were no you's?

TO MAM SHENG – for she might not be able to me going to AMERICA (ha! ha! ha), -- always there and ready to share every time im at the verge of giving up with our blood extraction lesson..
.. who also said “once you have read 3000 questions, you'll pass the board exam.” Mam, thanks to that idea you gave me high hopes, because when I looked back and counted I think I read 10, 000 and more..
..my partner in crime, who made hundreds of excuses to call my clinical instructors when i was at the in-house review center and i need to attend some work and when i become bored to death inside and i wanted to get out at the review center,  and also Ma'm sheng with your presence the burden of tasks became light and manageable.. what if there were no you?

TO CRIS – who appeared to be more anxious than i am 3 days before board exam because of the many pending jobs i need to attend before leaving the work (as if he is more affected than i am, he got insomnia or anorexia, he said, i am suppose to be at home by then, relax well rested and preparing for the big day) –Cris, i am at my best when i am toxic but then again thanks for sharing some of my anxieties
.. he also boosted my confidence by saying, "once you get out in the testing center you will feel and you would know if you pass the exam" – thanks for that idea.., I worried less while waiting for the result…

TO CLORAM – who kept on promising to give his hand outs but just gave a little, no I am not bitter, because I understand that you have your own hustles too, and I learned a lesson to rely not on anyone but on my own…you made me independently tough!

TO GALANO – who kept on annoying me when he saw me reading and reviewing my notes when i have my exams and at the same time i have works to do.  no, I am not irritated, because your disruption adds up my tolerance to absorbs concept even under stressful situations.

TO CRIS and SIR MAR – for the willingness to be my subject for practice and be the first person which i'll try the Intra Muscular and Intra Dermal injection, at the time when i need to do return demo at school, you gave me confidence and if not with that, i won't be able to get the highest grade.

To SIR NELSON, SIR LOPE and all those who patiently understanding my nuisance and insistance to convey me to school, if not of that, i would always be the center of attention for coming to school always late, not in uniform, no ballpen or paper.


TO SIR DONDIE, BARBA, JANET, MAM ELBY, MAM JO and to everyone – for extending a hand, for giving way and filling up my shortcomings, for believing and dreaming with me, you are my mentors for so many things …

“I will quote that the great challenge on the road to success is not the giants who blocks your way but it's how to conquer your fears and doubts of not believing yourself, that you won’t be able to make it” as they say this is just the beginning of my journey but I am afraid no more because I have been there and battled the conflicts gracefully.., and above all I have GOD to guide me through ….

the hurdles were indeed tough, but with your help i was able to make it.. and to all of you I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL….!!!

those were the days...struggling but worth reliving. i've never been so happy in my life, until i became one.
